The City of Birmingham announces an online funding program | Jobs Recent

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The City of Birmingham is helping to inform residents about federal funding for Internet service by launching the Connect 99 campaign.

“Having the ability to connect to high-speed Internet is now a basic necessity,” said Birmingham Mayor Randall L. Woodfin. “We are very pleased that our federal government is providing us with this service and we want to do everything we can to ensure that eligible citizens in all 99 areas have access to this resource.”

The Affordable Connectivity Program provides eligible households with high-speed home Internet service for $30 per month. In addition, eligible households will receive a one-time rebate of up to $100 toward the purchase of a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from eligible providers.
