Google partners with MietY startup center for second iteration of Appscale Academy, invites applications for 2023 | Jobs Recent

As part of a partnership with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub, Google announced on Wednesday that it will help 100 Indian entrepreneurs scale up through the second iteration of the Appscale Academy program. Selected startups will undergo a six-month training program on transforming innovative ideas into profitable businesses.

Benefits for Tier 2 and Tier 3 startups

Google’s growth and development initiative, Appscale Academy, teaches budding and mid-sized entrepreneurs how to build apps. The initiative, which was launched in 2022, is now gearing up for its second iteration in India.

One hundred selected companies will receive access to self-learning resources, instructor-led virtual webinars, and mentoring meetings with local and international business experts. These companies will also be able to present their concepts to global venture capitalists.

Over the course of the six-month program, start-ups will be trained in a variety of areas related to building successful applications, including UX design, business model and monetization methods, international development best practices, and security and data protection procedures.

Tier 2 and Tier 3 companies will benefit from Appscale Academy Class of 2023 development support. many cities, reports The Economic Times.

Jeet Vijay, CEO of MeitY Startup Hub, noted that they are looking forward to working with Google again later this year to increase their efforts for this community. He added that they want to bring the advantages of the program to more innovative application entrepreneurs from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities through their multi-city road show.

It’s great to witness the huge impact that app developers are creating in India and around the world, said Alkesh Kumar Sharma, secretary of MeitY. He said it was essential to continuously help these companies turn their innovative ideas into scalable businesses.

Accepting new applications

Apps from all sectors improved in the first cohort of the program in terms of UI, UX, security, user base, engagement rates and ratings, with 1 in 3 apps seeing double the number of installs and visitors, Google said.

Applications are being accepted for the second iteration of the Appscale Academy Class program in 2023. These will be selected by a panel of industry experts and members of the MeitY and Google startup center. The tech giant also announced that applications will be accepted until February 6, 2023.
