In Drinks Catalyst is now open to submissions and invites beverage producers less than three years in business to compete for annual business advice, networking and showcases.

The program was developed as part of In Drinks, the new national trade show for the beverage industry, taking place in Glasgow on 8 and 9 March 2023.

Over 60 exhibitors have already signed up for the fair, which will welcome buyers and suppliers from across the UK. Program finalists will receive a free stand at the exhibition worth over £500.

Adam Hardie, Head of Food and Drink at Johnston Carmichael is the program’s founding sponsor and joins the judging panel.

He commented: “Johnston Carmichael is passionate about the food industry and is particularly involved in early-stage beverage production, providing advice on accounting and tax issues and business development.

“We’re thrilled to be a founding partner of In Drinks Catalyst and with this program we aim to identify and help scale the UK’s most exciting beverage brands and help them take them to the next level.”

The program is also supported by Morton Fraser Lawyers and Contagious, who design and supply beverage brands.

Andrew Walker, a partner in Morton Fraser’s corporate team, said: “The country’s beverage industry has a global reputation for unparalleled quality, craftsmanship and innovation.

“His products are the lifeblood of our culture and also make a phenomenal contribution to our economy. Our support for the inaugural InDrinks Catalyst Awards is driven by the belief that there are inspiring, fresh-thinking entrepreneurs out there ready to be part of the sector’s history and seize the opportunity to take their business to the next level.”

The jury includes Paul Miller, founder of Eden Mill, and Annabel Thomas, founder and CEO of Nc’Nean Scotch Whiskey Distillery. Participants are required to submit a short written entry and provide packaging and samples by January 25, 2023. For more information, please visit
